Terms of Service.

The rules that govern your access to and use of Payaam.

Last updated: 25 July 2026. Effective: 25 July 2026.

Welcome to Payaam.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Payaam mobile application, web application, website, vendor portal, support services, payment services, and related features collectively called the "Services".

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between Payaam ("Payaam", "we", "us", or "our") and you ("you", "your", or "User").

By creating an account, accessing, downloading, browsing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You may use Payaam only if:

  • You are legally competent to enter into a binding agreement.
  • You are at least 18 years old or the age of majority under applicable law, whichever is higher.
  • For a marriage governed by Indian law, the person being matched meets the legal minimum marriage age: 18 for a bride, 21 for a groom.
  • You are using the Services for lawful marriage-introduction purposes.
  • You provide true, accurate, current, and complete information.
  • You are not prohibited from using the Services under applicable law or by Payaam.

You must not create a profile for another person unless you have authority, consent, or family permission to do so.

2. Nature of the Services

Payaam provides a technology platform for family-led marriage introductions.

The Services include:

  • Account creation and one-time passcode login by phone
  • A structured nine-step biodata profile
  • Photo uploads, reviewed by Payaam before they go live
  • Curated introductions, generated by a matching algorithm
  • Interest, save, pass, withdraw, and response actions
  • Mutual interest tracking and a shared journey view
  • Text chat once interest is mutual
  • Contact exchange after both sides consent
  • Membership, billing, and tax invoices
  • A wedding-services vendor directory under Planning
  • Help, support tickets, and live support chat

Payaam deliberately does not provide a swipe deck, a public profile directory, open search, or the ability to browse strangers. Introductions are curated and progression is consent-gated at every stage.

Payaam is a technology platform, not a marriage broker or matchmaking agency. Payaam does not arrange marriages, negotiate on your behalf, verify claims made by other users beyond the checks described in these Terms, or take part in anything that happens offline.

Payaam does not guarantee marriage, engagement, compatibility, acceptance, response, or any particular outcome.

3. Account Registration and Security

You may need an account to use the Services.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information.
  • Keep your phone number and contact details updated.
  • Keep OTPs and account access secure.
  • Not share account access with unauthorised persons.
  • Notify Payaam if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • Not create fake, duplicate, misleading, or impersonating accounts.

Payaam may suspend or terminate accounts that appear fake, abusive, fraudulent, inactive, unsafe, or in violation of these Terms.

4. Profile Responsibility

You are responsible for all profile information, photos, biodata, preferences, messages, vendor information, and other content you submit.

You confirm that:

  • Information you provide is true and not misleading.
  • You have permission to provide information about another person where applicable.
  • You will not upload photos or documents without proper rights.
  • You will not misrepresent marital status, age, identity, education, work, income, family background, location, or other material information.
  • You will update information if it changes.

Payaam may review, edit, reject, hide, or remove profile content that violates these Terms or platform policies.

5. Profile Review and Moderation

Profiles, photos, verification materials, vendor listings, reports, and other content may be reviewed by Payaam.

Payaam may approve, reject, pause, suspend, or remove content or accounts if Payaam believes they:

  • Are inaccurate or misleading
  • Violate policy
  • Contain inappropriate material
  • Create safety concerns
  • Infringe rights
  • Appear fraudulent
  • Are reported by users
  • Violate applicable law

Approval by Payaam does not mean Payaam verifies every claim made by a user.

Users are responsible for doing their own due diligence before moving forward with any match.

6. Match Recommendations and No Guarantee

Payaam may recommend profiles using profile details, preferences, activity, quality signals, visibility settings, and other relevant factors.

You understand that:

  • Recommendations are not guarantees.
  • Compatibility indicators are informational only.
  • Payaam does not guarantee accuracy of user-provided information.
  • Payaam does not guarantee responses, acceptance, engagement, marriage, or successful outcomes.
  • Users must independently verify details before making personal, family, financial, or marriage decisions.

7. Free and Premium Access

Payaam offers a free tier and a paid Premium membership.

Free access includes:

  • Account creation and the full nine-step biodata
  • Profile submission, review, and editing
  • Rich but photo-veiled introduction cards in Discover
  • Browsing the Planning vendor directory
  • Account management and support access

Premium membership unlocks:

  • Unveiled photos and the full introduction card
  • Expressing interest, saving a profile, and withdrawing interest
  • Viewing and responding to interest you have received
  • Requesting contact exchange
  • Vendor package detail, saving a vendor, and the WhatsApp handoff

Chat is not a paid feature. Once a connection reaches mutual interest, either side may open the thread and send messages regardless of membership. Contact exchange remains Premium-gated and still requires consent from both sides.

Premium is currently offered at ₹1,499 per month and ₹2,999 for three months. Both figures are inclusive of 18% GST. Pricing is launch pricing and may change; the price shown to you at checkout is the price that applies to that purchase.

Payaam may change which features sit in the free or paid tier at any time.

8. Payments, UPI, Billing, and Subscriptions

Payments are processed by Razorpay, our payment gateway, together with your bank, card network, or UPI provider. Payaam does not process card or bank credentials itself.

Premium is a recurring subscription. Monthly membership is collected by UPI Autopay mandate, which you authorise once and which then renews automatically until you cancel. All prices are shown inclusive of 18% GST.

By making a payment, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate billing information.
  • Authorise the payment.
  • Comply with payment provider terms.
  • Pay applicable taxes, fees, and charges.
  • Not use unauthorised payment methods.

Payaam does not collect or store UPI PINs, card CVV, banking passwords, or sensitive payment authentication credentials.

Payment status may depend on confirmation from the payment provider.

If a payment fails, is reversed, refunded, disputed, or flagged as fraudulent, we may suspend or restrict paid features.

9. Refunds and Cancellations

You may cancel Premium at any time from Settings, then Membership. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your membership immediately: access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then lapses.

Cancellation can be reversed for a short period afterwards, using the Resume option shown in the app. Once it is final, the autopay mandate is closed and cannot be reactivated, so continuing later means starting a new subscription.

Cancelling does not delete your account or your profile. If you also want your data removed, use account deletion in Settings, which is described in the Privacy Policy.

Unless required by law or stated otherwise, paid memberships are non-refundable once the period has begun, because access is granted immediately on payment.

Vendor subscriptions follow the same pattern, with proration applied when a vendor upgrades mid-period.

If you purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds may instead be subject to Apple or Google policies.

If a payment fails, is reversed, disputed, or flagged as fraudulent, Payaam may suspend or restrict paid features.

10. Contact Exchange

Contact details may be shown only according to Payaam's contact exchange rules.

You agree that:

  • Contact details should not be forced, extracted, scraped, or demanded.
  • Contact details may be shared only after the applicable consent flow.
  • You must not misuse contact details received through Payaam.
  • You must not harass, threaten, spam, or repeatedly contact another user.
  • You must respect a user's decision to stop communication.

Payaam may log contact exchange events for safety, audit, and dispute purposes.

11. Chat and User Communications

You are responsible for your communications with other users.

You must not send:

  • Harassing, threatening, abusive, or hateful messages
  • Sexual, obscene, exploitative, or inappropriate content
  • Fraudulent or misleading information
  • Payment requests, scams, or investment solicitations
  • Spam or promotional messages
  • Personal information of others without permission
  • Content that violates law or rights of others

Contact details may not be exchanged in chat before the consent flow is complete. Payaam enforces this automatically, and attempting to work around it is a breach of these Terms.

Chat is text-only.

Payaam may review messages if reported or if necessary for safety, moderation, legal compliance, or platform integrity.

12. Vendor Services

A vendor holds one business profile and one subscription. The business profile, its service packages, and all uploaded media are reviewed by Payaam before they become visible to families.

The wedding-services marketplace is entirely separate from the matrimonial side of Payaam. Vendors appear only inside Planning, never inside Discover or Journey, and vendor accounts have no access to any member's matrimonial data.

Vendors agree that:

  • Business information must be accurate.
  • Required licences, registrations, GST details, and permissions must be maintained where applicable.
  • Packages and media must not mislead families.
  • Leads must be handled professionally and promptly.
  • Vendor services are provided directly by the vendor, not Payaam.
  • Payaam is not responsible for vendor service quality, pricing, fulfilment, cancellation, refunds, or disputes unless expressly stated.

Contact between a family and a vendor happens on WhatsApp, not on Payaam. When a family taps Chat on WhatsApp, Payaam records that a lead occurred and opens WhatsApp with a fixed, standard opening message. Payaam does not run an enquiry inbox, does not carry the conversation, and cannot see what is said, quoted, or agreed afterwards. There is therefore no on-platform response guarantee.

There is no bidding or auction. Vendors publish fixed, structured packages; they do not compete on price inside Payaam.

Payaam may approve, reject, pause, suspend, or remove a vendor profile, a package, or any uploaded media.

14. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use Payaam for unlawful purposes
  • Create fake or misleading profiles
  • Impersonate another person
  • Misrepresent identity, age, marital status, education, work, income, family, or location
  • Upload content you do not have rights to
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, or exploit others
  • Scrape, crawl, copy, or extract platform data
  • Reverse engineer or interfere with the Services
  • Circumvent paywalls, visibility controls, contact gates, or security systems
  • Use the Services for commercial solicitation unless approved as a vendor
  • Share another user's profile, photos, contact details, or private messages outside the platform without permission
  • Upload malware, spam, or harmful code
  • Attempt to access admin, vendor, or user accounts without authorisation
  • Use Payaam to promote illegal, discriminatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or harmful content

15. Reports, Blocking, and Enforcement

Users may report or block other users.

Payaam may investigate reports and take action, including:

  • Warning a user
  • Removing content
  • Limiting visibility
  • Pausing matching
  • Restricting features
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Reporting unlawful activity to authorities where required
  • Preserving records for investigation

Payaam is not obligated to disclose investigation details or enforcement reasoning.

16. Admin and Support Access

Payaam admins, moderators, and support staff may access user, vendor, payment, communication, and activity information only as needed for:

  • Support
  • Debugging
  • Moderation
  • Profile review
  • Vendor review
  • Payment support
  • Fraud prevention
  • Safety investigation
  • Legal compliance
  • Platform operations

Admin access is role-based: a staff member can reach only the areas their role allows. Sensitive actions, including profile decisions, refunds, and any use of the view-as-user support tool, are recorded in an audit log.

Payaam staff do not read chat messages routinely. Message content is accessed only when a conversation is reported, or where required for a safety investigation or by law.

17. Intellectual Property

Payaam owns or licenses all rights in the Services, including:

  • Software
  • Design
  • UI
  • Logos
  • Brand assets
  • Content
  • Databases
  • Workflows
  • Algorithms
  • Documentation
  • Website materials

You may not copy, modify, reproduce, distribute, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Payaam without written permission.

18. Licence to Use the Services

Subject to these Terms, Payaam grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services for personal, lawful marriage-introduction purposes or approved vendor purposes.

This licence ends when your account is terminated or your access is revoked.

19. Licence to User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit, subject to rights you grant to Payaam.

You grant Payaam a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, reproduce, adapt, moderate, transmit, and use your content to:

  • Provide the Services
  • Display your profile according to visibility rules
  • Process matches and interests
  • Provide support
  • Operate vendor listings
  • Improve platform functionality
  • Enforce safety and moderation policies
  • Comply with law

You confirm you have the rights and permissions necessary to submit such content.

20. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how Payaam collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information.

By using the Services you agree to our Privacy Policy, which covers what we collect, how long we keep it, and how to have it deleted.

21. Third-Party Services

The Services rely on these categories of third party:

  • Razorpay, our payment gateway, for payments, subscriptions, and UPI Autopay mandates
  • An SMS provider, for delivering one-time passcodes
  • A cloud database and file-storage provider, for your profile data and photos
  • A push-notification provider, for app notifications
  • An email delivery provider, for transactional email
  • PostHog, our product analytics provider, used only if you accept analytics cookies

If you need the identity of a specific provider in order to exercise a data-protection right, write to support and we will provide it.

Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Payaam is not responsible for third-party acts, omissions, downtime, pricing, errors, or policies.

22. App Store Terms

If you download Payaam through Apple App Store or Google Play, your use may also be subject to Apple or Google terms.

Apple and Google are not responsible for Payaam's services, support, content, claims, or disputes except as required by their own terms.

23. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

  • You attempt to bypass access controls
  • You create safety, legal, or reputational risk
  • Required by law
  • Payaam discontinues the Services

You may stop using the Services or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is not immediate: your account enters a 30-day recovery period during which signing in restores it. After 30 days the deletion is finalised, your profile and photos are erased, and it cannot be undone. If you have an active subscription, deleting your account also schedules its cancellation.

Certain provisions will survive termination, including payment obligations, content licences where necessary, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, dispute provisions, and legal compliance provisions.

If you cannot access the app, use the public account deletion request page without installing Payaam or signing in.

Your continued use of the Services after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
